Summary

As part of the DigiRess II funding program, several groundbreaking projects focused on climate protection and structural transformation in the Rhenish mining region were recognized and awarded on October 15, 2024. One of the funded initiatives is ‘GenAI4Maintenance’ by oculavis. The project aims to transform maintenance practices for machinery and production environments using artificial intelligence (AI).
Endorsed by Oliver Krischer, North Rhine-Westphalia’s Minister for Environment, Nature Conservation, and Transport, and Dr. Jan-Niclas Gesenhues, Parliamentary State Secretary for Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety, and Consumer Protection, the project plays a pivotal role in promoting climate-friendly development and driving economic transformation within the region.
With generative AI, oculavis seeks to optimize maintenance processes, increase efficiency and use resources more sustainably. The technology provides access to comprehensive information about past faults and facilitates the creation of service reports.
To achieve these objectives, oculavis collaborates with AIXEMTEC, KraussMaffei , and the ESW Group. The partner companies provide their maintenance use cases that are essential for testing and refining the solution in realistic scenarios. For instance, at the ESW Group, around 17,000 maintenance cases were analyzed and made accessible in real time through a chatbot. This chatbot offers natural language guidance for repairs and maintenance tasks, effectively assisting even less-experienced technicians.
Discover how generative AI can improve your efficiency and reduce resource consumption in a personal consultation. Book an appointment to explore all the potential benefits!
